Airport services

There are several ways you can take public transport to and from Auckland Airport. All of the services stop at both the domestic and international airport terminals.


Airbus Express - Auckland City Centre to Auckland Airport

Airbus Express is Auckland's airport transfer service from Auckland City and Auckland Airport operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Every 10 minutes weekdays (7am - 7pm)
Every 15 minutes weekends (6am - 7pm)
Evening departures every 20 minutes and overnight every 30 minutes.

Airbus Express operates two bus routes between the Airport and the city, one via Mt Eden Road and one via Dominion Road so there are plenty of convenient places you can catch Airbus.

The bus starts from its dedicated bus stop at the Downtown Ferry Terminal next to the Britomart Transport Centre, Quay Street. This makes it easy to catch the bus if you have arrived at Britomart by bus, train or ferry.

The bus travels along Queen Street making it convenient if you are staying at central hotels and hostels. It also stops at Mt Eden Train Station on the Western Line.

Travel time between the city and airport takes between 45 minutes and an hour. Please allow extra time for travel during peak times.


Tickets are available online, from the bus driver (cash only), selected city hostels, hotels and Auckland i-Sites or the ticket machine at the Airport Ticket Kiosks (located by the Airbus Express bus stops).

Prices start from $16 one way for an adult.


380 Airporter - Manukau to Onehunga via Auckland Airport

The 380 Airporter operates between Manukau and Onehunga via Papatoetoe Train Station to Auckland Airport.

Buses operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Monday to Friday
Manukau - Airport: First bus 5.00am, last bus 10.50pm
Airport - Manukau: First bus 5.00am, last bus 11.00pm

Onehunga - Airport: First bus 5.00am, last bus 8.05pm
Airport - Onehunga: First bus 6.00am, last bus 7.15pm

Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays
Manukau - Airport: First bus 6.00am, last bus 10.30pm
Airport - Manukau: First bus 6.40am, last bus 11.40pm

Onehunga - Airport: First bus 8.10am, last bus 8.10pm
Airport - Onehunga: First bus 6.20am, last bus 8.20pm

If you are travelling on a Naked Bus, Intercity or Newmans service, you can also catch the 380 to the airport from Manukau where there is a connection point.


Tickets are available from the bus driver.

From Manukau to the airport the fare is $4.50 one way for an adult. Travel time is approximately 25-40 minutes.
From Onehunga to the airport the fare is $3.40. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes.

Naked Bus passengers can buy tickets online for their journey to the airport - please visit to book.

Intercity bus passengers can also buy tickets online for their journey to the airport - please visit to book.

Train-Bus Connection to Auckland Airport (via Papatoetoe Train Station)

You can catch a train from anywhere along the Southern, Eastern and Onehunga Lines and connect at Papatoetoe Train Station with the 380 Airporter bus to the airport.

From Papatoetoe to the airport travelling time is approximately 25 minutes - please factor in any connection time when you plan your journey.

Trains run between 5am - 10pm (approximately) with later evening services on Fridays.

Route 375 - Botany Town Centre to Mangere Town Centre

Route 375 is a Monday to Friday service that operates between Botany Town Centre and Mangere Town Centre where you can connect to the 380 Airporter service.

Botany to Mangere: First bus 5.50am, last bus 5.45pm
Mangere to Botany: First bus 6.30am, last bus 6.30pm

The bus runs via Otara Interchange (MIT campus), Hunters Corner and Middlemore Hospital.
