Western Bus Consultation Results

Public consultation on the proposed bus service changes for Massey, Westgate, Hobsonville, Helensville and the surrounding areas is now complete.  Approximately 280 formal submissions were received.

There were concerns raised about certain aspects of the proposal such as:

• the proposed removal of the Whenuapai and Herald Island bus service (additional consultation has been undertaken with the Whenuapai and Herald Island communities as a result of the large amount of feedback).
• the proposed removal of the 130-133 services from West Harbour/Hobsonville and West Harbour
•  the proposed removal of service from Kemp Rd, Helleur Rd and Garton Rd
•  the removal of the 130-133 services from Glenfield and Albany  
   

There was also strong support for some aspects of the proposal.

As a result of public and political feedback, a number of significant changes to the original proposal are being investigated.  These changes will look to resolve or mitigate many of the concerns raised during consultation.   Detailed discussions about these proposed changes are currently being held with our key stakeholders.  Information about the final bus service design and an implementation timeline will be released shortly.
