Privacy Statement
Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) has created this Privacy Statement in relation to the MAXX website www.maxx.co.nz (the MAXX Website) and the related services offered in conjunction with the MAXX Website (Related Services) in order to demonstrate its firm commitment to privacy.
This Privacy Statement should be read in conjunction with the General Terms and Conditions of Website Use. By viewing and using the MAXX Website and/or Related Services, you will be deemed to agree to this Privacy Statement. If you do not agree to this Privacy Statement you should stop accessing and using the MAXX Website and Related Services and you should not disclose information to ARTA.
Information collected
ARTA collects and holds various information about users of the MAXX Website. This information includes:
1. When you look at the MAXX Website, ARTA's Internet Service Provider makes a record of your visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes:
- your server address
- your top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc)
- the date and time of your visit to the site
- the pages you accessed and documents downloaded
- the previous site you have visited
- the type of browser you are using
This information about your use is only analysed on a bulk basis for broad demographic content. Individual use is not analysed.
2. Personal information, provided by you through voluntary registration or completion of forms. If you use the MAXX Website to complete an online application form, ARTA will only collect the information contained in that application form if you submit the form to ARTA. If you log out of the MAXX Website or cancel the application prior to submitting the form, the information you had entered will be automatically deleted.
3. Personal information, provided to ARTA by you through any other method (including without limitation correspondence and discussions).
4. Cookies, which are pieces of information that a website transfers to an individual's hard drive for record keeping purposes. The cookie assigns you an ID which allows ARTA to recognise you when you return to the MAXX Website. ARTA uses "cookies" to deliver content specific to your interests so users do not have to register each time they use the MAXX Website.

Access to and correction of information held
Under the Privacy Act 1993 you have rights of access to and correction of the personal information ARTA holds about you. If you have any concerns about the accuracy or extent of that information or wish to access or correct such information please contact ARTA by emailing us.
Use and disclosure of information collected
ARTA will only record your email address if you provide it as part of a registration or completion of a form or if you send ARTA an email message. Your email address will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it and it will not be added to a mailing list or used for any other purpose without your consent.
ARTA will not use or disclose information collected about you, including information collected using cookies, other than for a purpose made known to you, a purpose you would reasonably expect, a purpose required, authorised or permitted by or under any law, or a purpose otherwise authorised by you.
The personal information you provide will be used for the following purposes:
- Verification of your identity for use of the Related Services and to enable ARTA to provide such services to you;
- To assist in providing a better website and services and keep it relevant and of interest to users;
- To provide you with further information about ARTA or other websites or goods or services which ARTA consider may be of interest to you;
- To carry out market research and conduct surveys;
- Analysis in aggregate form (identifiable characteristics removed so that you will remain anonymous);
- To contact you to invite you to participate in a focus group and/or to correspond with you about comments you have made in relation to a transport service, this MAXX Website and/or Related Services.
ARTA may give the personal information ARTA collects about you to relevant business partners for the purposes identified above.
Consequences of non-provision of information
Failure to provide necessary personal information requested at the time of registration for or use of the MAXX Website and/or Relates Services may result in certain services not being offered and/or provided to you.
